Beacon Hill is hiring a Staff Accountant for a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles on a temp-to-hire basis. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with nonprofit and grant-funded experience who enjoys working in a mission-driven environment. The Staff Accountant will support contract accounting, reconciliations, month-end activities, and compliance with government funding requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Manage accounting activities for assigned grants and government-funded programs Perform bank, prepaid expense, and balance sheet reconciliations Support month-end close and general ledger maintenance Ensure compliance with GAAP and government contract requirements Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting requests Analyze accounting data and resolve discrepancies as needed Collaborate with program managers and internal departments on contract-related financial matters Qualifications 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization Experience working with grants, government funding, or contract accounting strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs Experience with Financial Edge NXT is a plus Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
