Location Highlights
Albany offers access to both urban amenities and outdoor recreation in New York’s Capital Region. Washington Park and the Empire State Plaza are both within the city, and the New York State Museum provides a major cultural attraction downtown. The Hudson River waterfront and the Albany Pine Bush Preserve offer nearby nature access, while the Adirondack Park is roughly 90 miles north for weekend trips. Albany also connects travelers through Amtrak service at Albany-Rensselaer Station and is about 150 miles from New York City and about 170 miles from Boston.
